Push Bars were originally designed to serve as "push bars!" Farmers and field workers used them to push gates closed and as a tool for putting the pressure on. Later, brush guards were added to protect the remainding front-end of the vehicle from damage. Now, these once functional add-ons are used for aesthetics. Hey, if it looks good - go for it!
